Unable to Edit a Den in Roster when there are no scouts in it

image

Also unable to use the “Add to Den” since it also doesn’t list the dens with no scouts. I do not see a menu option or button to create a new den, either.

I am a Den Leader. I got into this situation when attempting to move scouts to the next Den for the new year, which left their original Den now empty and unable to be edited.

@MichaelZ

First, there is no need to “move” Scouts to the next den level. Simply edit the den and change the level.

Try a hard refresh (SHIFT + REFRESH) to see if that brings the Edit option back. I have Edit and Delete on my dens with no Scouts.

That is good to know you can just edit the den, I will try that next time. Unfortunately, doesn’t appear to be a way to Edit even after a refresh when the Den is empty.

Is adding a den not allowed for a Den Leader? If I could use the “Add den” button I found on this page then I could just create new ones and populate them with scouts during creation.

@MichaelZ

I’m not sure but I suspect a Den Leader can only edit their own den. Ask a unit admin to fix the den you are unable to edit.

Thanks! I will reach out to our Unit Admin and confirm here if that works.

Seems like a UI bug to show Edit on the dens with members and not when there are no members. I have permissions to edit all of these dens, because I was able to move the members to the other dens. But I suspect the Unit Admin using the Add Den button to create new ones for me will work around the issue.

OK, the issue seems to be related to me being a Den Leader and not a Unit Admin. I am not sure why I was able to move people out of the other dens, but it appears that the Unit Admin has permissions to move people around and was able to fix the issue. Thank you for the help.
