We have a counselor that is a member of the committee. Our Scoutmaster is having problems trying to connect Scouts to that counselor. When he tries to connect them, he gets an error that “You must select a user that has a MB counselor role or remove the MB counselor role.”
The Scoutmaster’s ID is 140988841 (Greater Yosemite Council) and the Scout in question has an ID of 136625966. My son also was supposed to be connected to this counselor, but he was getting the same error. I was able to get them connected. The counselor’s ID is 141556629.
I checked the new permissions setup document, but didn’t see anything about MB counselors. Are we supposed to be using that for linking MB counselors yet? If so, which section of the guide should I reference?
@DavidParker7- you might want to avoid having images posted with the personal info of the person on a public forum

She is already connected to the scout - check that first
What about the connection are we looking at?
Go to Scout > find scouter name click on it > see MBC connection > go in there and add the needed MB
I checked in both Scoutbook legacy and SBP and don’t see this path. Perhaps I am missing something. The “See MBC connection” step is the one I don’t see. Note that I’m trying this as Scoutmaster in our Girls troop so I can validate the steps for our Boys troop SM.
Go to Legacy > go to Scout > click Connections ………

Right, that is what he was doing. When he goes to edit the counselor’s current connections and add MBC as one, that is where he is getting the error.
This is third person - would be best for SM to get on unless your user is getting the same error - MBC 141556629 is connected to scout LW as a MBC - the MB just needs to be added.

For few of my adult leaders I am not able to connect them to scoutsa s MBCs
for others I was able to
I tried below ways
- Go to legacy SB MB counselor list, select a counselor and try to add roles, in that roles list I cant find MBC
- In SBP i cant add the adult as MBC it
Please provide guidance

@Venkata_Durga_SaratM the simple first answer is - are they already connected to the Scout - if so go to Scout Connections in Legacy > click adult name > add MBC checkbox and correct MB
@Venkata_Durga_SaratM - MBC work in not in SB+ as yet so it is all in classic scoutbook.

@Venkata_Durga_SaratM - the mbc can link themselves to the scout with the scout last name and member id
@Venkata_Durga_SaratM She is not registered as a merit badge counselor under that member ID (MID) number. However, she is registered as a merit badge counselor under MID 7817489 in Golden Empire Council.
