Good evening,
I have been trying to transfer a scout from Baltimore Area Council (BAC) Troop 2016 over to NCAC Troop 1250.
This scout was a former NCAC member during his time in Pack 1250, then went to BAC Troop 2016, and is now transferring back into NCAC to join Troop 1250.
Following the instructions we were given by our District Executive, we have tried initiating a transfer as both the parent and as the unit leader.
The parent is getting further than I am able to as the unit leader, but when she reaches the final Submit Transfer button, she encounters an error
We have reached out to our District Executive for assistance, but we are worried with the change in dues and rechartering that his transfer may slip through the cracks.
Is there anything that we can do to help assist this?
I can provide BSA member IDs for this scout when he was in Cub Scouts in NCAC Pack 1250 and his previous BAC Troop 2016 membership.
Thank you!
-Brian Pieslak
@BrianPieslak if you post the BAC # (no name) we can take a look
@DonovanMcNeil - you are my hero.
BSA Member ID: 136311467

https://help.scoutbook.scouting.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Online-transfer-between-councils.pdf - the Mother should be able to with these instructions - but she has not logged in since June to that account
@BrianPieslak The parent with initials K.Q. is the one with the parent “relationship” (at my.Scouting) that is required to do the online transfer.
However, this Scout’s registration expires this month (12/31), so I am not sure if it will work or not.
@JenniferOlinger - so that parent with initials K.Q. Isn’t actually a parent. I was talking with his mother tonight at our Troop meeting (initials J.K.)
His former unit, BAC Troop 2016, uses Troop Master
I got his mom to login to ScoutBook.com, and that was the first thing she saw.
Given that his registration is currently with another unit, how can we remove adult K.Q. from his parent relationship? And how can we set parent with initials J.K. As having the rights to initiate the transfer?
-Brian
@BrianPieslak The parent needs to contact the local council to get the parent relationships corrected.
Well BAC would need to remove the relationship
Would the Unit Leader / Scoutmaster for the BAC unit be able to update the parent relationships? Or can that only be handled by the Baltimore Area Council staff?
The other parent with initial’s K.Q. is the parent of another scout in their former BAC unit, and his mother had no idea how K.Q was setup with a parental relationship to her son.
-Brian
Only Council Staff can change those
@BrianPieslak Baltimore Area Council needs to remove the incorrect parent relationship, and then add the correct parent relationship. Unit leaders cannot do it.
Copy all.
Thank you @DonovanMcNeil and @JenniferOlinger . We could not have figured this out without you. Wish there was a way to “donate a cup of coffee” or a treat for your help.
