Last year, I submitted New Unit Applications plus a letter of release from old chartered org for all my 3 units (Pack, B Troop, and G Troop). I made the mistake of hitting “Recharter” on the B Troop before the switch happened thinking it was already done. When I realized this, I reached out to the council and notified them. After some time, all the three units got switched over. I’m sure because I had back and forth with council to fix the address.
So, I did the recharter. The B Troop didn’t send me the papers for digital signature. But that got sorted out and I was able to get the papers and signed them. I went to the council to pay by check.
When the recharter finally processed, I noticed that Scoutbook had our B Troop under the old chartered org. So, I notified the council.
Here is her email convo:
Me, 1/10/22 10:53am: “Scoutbook is now showing [old chartered org] as our charter org for the B Troop.
Council, 1/10/22 12:35pm: “ Correct because you started the recharter before I changed. It’s a new system and I am learning the process.”
Me, 1/11/22 4:23pm: “ What can I do on my end to fix this?”
Council, 1/18/22 8:23am: “ I have found out from the powers that be we are unable to change the Charter Org at this time. There is no update when the feature will be available.
Sorry . . . new system new issues.”
Me, 1/21/22 3:20pm: “Hi xxx, just like to follow up on our charter org. Will the new unit application and release letter from the old charter org be enough for National to correct our charter?
Please let me know what I can do to help.”Council, 1/21/22 3:24pm: “ I have found out from the powers that be we are unable to change the Charter Org at this time. There is no update when the feature will be available.
Sorry . . . new system new issues.”
Are we just stuck with the old chartered org since my new unit application and release letter are not even enough to fix it? Our Pack and G Troop are both showing the correct chartered org.
