Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
Hi all I am a new Committee Chair for a Cub Scout Pack. Last year’s committee and admins did not log any achievements for the scouts. I want to ensure the youth’s ranks are logged in and accredited properly. The scoutbook plus portal does not allow me to do this. It only lets me edit based on their current Dens I have them setup in. If I try to go in and backdate stuff all the boxes are greyed out and says the youth is not eligible or never started.
Do I have to troubleshoot this with council? is there a way myself or the Cubmaster can do it? Please advise!
@MattR.Pack3376 all advancement for Cubs on the Scoutbook platform is based on Den level. To do this scouts would have to be in the correct den. The Versions of the awards also come into play. It would be easiest to provide council with the ranks that need to be entered and the scouts Member #s. Do not worry about the adventures.
Thanks for the response. Before I reach out to them, I’ve come to learn my pack has been doing the record keeping by paper. Is that sufficient or is it required/mandatory to be done in my scouting?
Reporting advancement is a requirement of Scouting America, and entering it directly into the Scouting America system through Scoutbook Plus or another internet portal is the most straightforward way to get it done.
