why do i frequently get this message trying to log in?

Please note I am not using GMAIL and am certainly not trying to use a gmail address to log in. I also have darn sure not forgotten my password. Yet every couple of months i need to do a password reset to log in…
BTW when i do a reset the system happily sends the reset info to the address it just told couldn’t be associated with an account…
