Youth Scribes can not take attendance using the scouting app when attendees from multiple units are invited

The scribe supposed to be able to take attendance for meetings and events using the scouting app. (We have been doing that for about a year now with no issues)

However, if another unit is invited to the same event then the scribe can not take attendance.

The most likely situation where this would be an issue is when a troop invites the packs AOL den to participate in meetings and camp outs. My troop invites the AOLs from the pack to atleast one meeting a month in the fall and then all meetings and events after January 1 until crossover. We finally discovered why the scribe could not take attendance and it was when the AOL den was added.

I think this is because the editor needs permission to both units. I don’t think there’s a way to assign youth the calendar editor permissions in a pack, although I don’t have one to test it with.

@CraigValent - not a bug as the scouting app is limited to the scout abd their respective unit. They may have better luck on a laptop but i am not certain as we do not use attendance

Regardless, the scribe should still be able to track attendance for the scouts in the unit that they are a part of.

The other situation where this could be an issue is for linked B G Troops where they do activities together.

Except that they’re not editing the individuals in their unit: they’re editing a joint calendar event. The event belongs to two units’ calendars simultaneously. In order to edit any part of that event, they need permissions to both calendars. This is an issue that has existed long before the SB+ calendar or the ability of youth to edit calendar events. Scouters registered in only one of the units should have the same issue, if I understand the permissions and architecture correctly.

@CraigValent - i would suggest the scribe trying this on advancements.scouting.org rather than the scouting app to see if it is any different
