I have a leader who took YPT on 3/20/2024, and the training report already shows it as expired on 3/20/2025. I know that SYT is now due every year, but I thought that any YPT taken in 2024 would’ve still been good for 2 years.

Some councils required annual YPT. It is possible, though I don’t know for sure, with the change to SYT Councils were able to specify that 2024 YPT expire after 1 year. I suggest checking with your Council training chair.
I think with SYT there was an announcement that all old YPT would expire X - but not sure. or maybe as Y01 changed names it changed to 1 year expire also and that was not considered
@etruongcao - the email I received from Scouting America stated that I have to take the SYT by May 31, 2026. It also stated that if you took YPT before 22 May 2025 it will be honored until that May date.

Any YPT expiration date that was before or on May 31, 2026 was left as is when it was converted to SYT. All YPT expiration dates for after May 31, 2026 were changed to May 31, 2026 when it was converted to SYT. That was what (some of) the national communications said and what I have observed happening to many users. Whether some councils were allowed to be more restrictive, I do not know.
