Greetings, past few days I cannot add a new event to Calendar and get the “Clear Cache or contact your Council error.” This is only happening on various browsers on an iOS device. I can use Calendar on a PC to add new events. Many of our leaders use most functions on iOS and cannot create new event because of the current bug.
Any help? Cache cleared, devices have been restarted etc obviously.
@CHRISAPALLAS - is this using advancements.scouting.org or the red scouting app ?
Using a mobile browser to access website. Not using the App.
@CHRISAPALLAS - and you have your unit position selected in the upper right ?
Correct. I’m Cubmaster.
Does the Red App allow new event creation? I can’t see a way to test it. Only the filter appears. Separate issue though. Cheers.
@CHRISAPALLAS - the red app is meant for scouts and parents not leaders. I have an android and have not ha an issue adding or editing events though not my preference to work on my phone.
The contract council is not a message i would expect from scoutbook plus.
@CHRISAPALLAS - everything is all good with you and your pack at my.scouting.org?
@CHRISAPALLAS would need to see a screenshot of error
Yes, this is what I get using a mobile device going to the website for Scoutbook Plus and going to Calendar.
Screenshot posted in other reply. Thanks
Just as an additional data point, it appears to be working normally when I login using Chrome on Android, so maybe just an iOS issue?
I’m on iOS yes, but same error on Chrome and Safari.
Right, that’s why I suspected it was an iOS issue. That it works on Android and desktop, but not on iOS, might help devs narrow down whatever parts of the code are barfing. Doesn’t Chrome on iOS use webkit (i.e. like Safari), not chromium? That said, I’m not sure what that might break in the interface, so it might just be a red herring.
I am curious if any of you have the device save your login information? I think this is an IOS issue and not a scoutbook issue.
Sure, my browsers autofill sign-in info, then i verify my humanness. Oh it gets worse, I thought advancement functions were fine when I drilled down in my roster, but I get the same error now when I click on an adventure of a scout. On the surface it looks like I can navigate around but it’s giving me errors.
@CHRISAPALLAS - can you go to settings then password and delete the instance for advancements.scouting.org and try the site after that.
I did that. No change. More info: On Cub adventures, when I click on any adventure that’s been started, I get the error. But when I click on one that hasn’t been started, I can get into the requirements but then any other click errors.
@CHRISAPALLAS - ok… Can you get to scoutbook.scouting.org and my.scouting.org. If you can get to scoutbook.scouting.org can you try the link there for scoutbook plus. I know it works on mac OS sonoma in chrome and safari along with windows and android.
