Error 403 using Unit Quick Entry

When I attempt to using the Unit Quick Entry to add any adventures, I select the scouts and then select Unit Quick Entry > Advancements and then I am presented with “Error 403 You don’t have access to this trail.”

I have used this just up until about two weeks ago then today I tried to bulk update adventures and receive the error.

It looks like there may have been a significant modification to the permissions structure today/last night?

I am also hitting this issue when I tried today to make complete requirements for activities for those in my cub scout den (I am a den leader).

The fix is essentially the same: most if not all units need to reassign permissions based on the new permissions structure. Some permissions (like registered Unit Key 3, and functional positions assigned in my.scouting like Key 3 Delegates) may still work. Permissions that derived from positions/connections in classic Scoutbook appear to have been removed.

@ThomasEdwards4 your unit leaders should watch video at Video Guide for this new SB+ Permission System and then take actions - also your registration is funny - it ends 12/31/25 but that seems odd as it is only 3 months - might want to talk to council

Thank you for getting back to me quickly. I will pass on this information to my unit leaders so they can hopefully resolve the permissions issue.

I know my registration is up for renewal, but can you explain what you mean in that is it only for 3 months. Does that mean when I register it will only be good from 1/1/2026 - 3/31/2026? I will try to reach out to council to get more information as well.

I looked over the following document, and it states that Den Leaders should have permissions to “Create/Remove/Edit/Approve” activities and advancement. Are there there specific additional permission(s) that I can tell my unit that they will need to add to my account in order to help them out? Thank you!

Hrm. Have you tried forcing a refresh/clearing cached data to see if that pulls the correct permissions-by-registered-position for your DL registration?

I also get a 403 trying to use Unit Quick Entry for my den, even after clearing caches, doing a hard refresh, logging out/back in and doing those again. What’s odd is not that I am showing roles that should have edit (both Den Leader and Den Admin), but that I can go into an individual scout’s record and mark achievements complete/approved both individually and with Individual Quick Entry.

It appears that Den Leader and Den Support (“sub-unit support” but it doesn’t say that in a Pack) are mutually exclusive. This is what happens if I try to give a Den Leader the Den Support role:

I suspect but can’t confirm yet that the Quick Entry was tied to the Unit Advancement permissions, and is blocked for Subunit advancement permissions. Is anyone able to test that? Difficult to test it myself as the Cubmaster. Everything works for me.

Yes this 403 has been reported and found and is being worked on
