New leader can’t login to scoutbook

Have a new leader that can’t get into scoutbook. When put in credentials it says it does not recognize her. When does forgot password it says secret question is invalid. How can I get her in?

@MarkSchneider1 has she done YPT? she should sign in the same way as there. Post BSA # (no names) if that does not work.

She has completed YPT and is listed as a leader on the roster. BSA member ID is 141132147. She just tried recovering username using member ID and it said no accounts found.

@MarkSchneider1 is she using the Luna.##### username?

She said she tried the Luna.##### user name and also her Member ID

she can go to my.scouting.org - in bottom Right corner she can click the BOT > say “forgot password” > with a few details it will get them around the security questions

Otherwise council can reset password - but Luna.###### is the user name

She tried the bot and get an error of

We were unable to find your user given the information you provided.

@MarkSchneider1 If she isn’t able to reset her password using the chatbot, that suggests that something isn’t matching: BSA member ID number, spelling of last name, zip code, or date of birth.

Next step would be for her to contact the local council and ask them to reset her password.

I have a Leader who used to be able to get into My.Scouting and Scoutbook but now has issues. He logged in thru Apple ID on his iphone but now can’t get into anything on his computer. He’s tried resetting his password but nothing is working. Are you able to assist? His BSA ID is 137301359.

@TabithaKappel This user has Apple sign in turned on, so the password reset will not work (can’t reset an external password).

When he logs in, he needs to be sure that he click on the “Sign in with Apple” button, his Apple name, and his Apple password.

I would also have him double check the urls to make sure that he is logging in to the correct sites:

Scoutbook (legacy):
https://scoutbook.scouting.org/

my.Scouting:
https://my.scouting.org/

@JenniferOlinger He tried this evening and still can’t get in. Is there any way to change how he signed in so he doesn’t have to go thru Apple?

Does he get an error message? If we can see a screenshot, sometimes that helps.

@TabithaKappel A screenshot of the error message and the url would be very helpful.

Above is the error he gets no matter if he tries, phone or email.

@TabithaKappel We have had some users try to log in to the wrong url, so that is what we were hoping to see in the screenshot.

@TabithaKappel if he can log into forums it would be one step closer for us to help the user

I was able to go and assist him yesterday and after trying on a different computer with the right url, it worked. I think it’s something on this specific computer that’s the issue, so it looks like we are all good. I had him save that url as a favorite you all provided. Thank you so much for all your help!

@DonovanMcNeil He just tried to show me how he couldn’t get in again but can at home sometimes. Could there be an issue where it only recognizes his identity if he’s on his home network?

@TabithaKappel no - what does it say when that user tries to log in - much easier when we can talk directly to the user also

Is he using Google or Apple to login?
