Warning another user using same email address

@LeoFialho I have removed your e-mail address from your daughter’s Scoutbook account. Everything else looks OK to me.

Thank you SO MUCH, @JenniferOlinger!
For some reason my name is listed in the Den as a scout instead of my daughter’s. How do I update her name?

@LeoFialho no Leo is just entered as the Scouts Nickname/preferred name - can be changed at Edit Profile

Hello,
I am getting the “same email address” warning.
When I log in to scoutbook, I see my daughter’s info which is correctly linked to her new Pack.
I also see my son’s name, but he is not linked to his troop. We relocated, and prior to moving, he was correctly linked to his previous pack.
He is active in scoutbook in his new troop as I’ve seen his scoutbook info, but he is not linked back to me and my account.
Is there a way to link him back to my original login? Or do I just need a second login to scoutbook linked against his new record? perhaps I already have a second scoutbook account which is why I am getting the duplicate email message?
Thanks,
Drake

@DrakeHenderson we will look at it

@DrakeHenderson I think this is all fixed if you can check

Hi @DonovanMcNeil, it seems my account merged with that of my daughter. I am Leo, that is my nickname. When I click “Edit Profile” under what would be her profile within the Den’s Scouts, it takes me instead to my own profile.

My daughter’s name is Lara and up until recently that’s what it said, but then my name showed up instead.

So weird.

Thanks for your time in trying to help me!

@LeoFialho Try asking a Pack Admin to see if they can update your daughter’s preferred name / nickname.

Edit profile of your children is not intuitive. After you click edit profile, in the upper left, click youth profile. Then near the upper right click scout’s info. That should be your daughter’s info.

Thanks @jacobfetzer.

Everything looks correct in her Youth Profile after I follow your guidance. For some reason my name instead of hers shows up as a scout in the Den. So strange.

On her profile, was your name listed as preferred name?

When you click your name under the youth list, what’s the Scoutbook userID that is shown?

The Scoutbook userID for the daughter is 12830642.

Her preferred name / nickname is currently set to: “Leo”.

When I go to her Youth Profile I see nothing in the Preferred Name/Nickname field.
@jacobfetzer

@LeoFialho save something in the preferred name then erase and Save a second time - see if that clears it

THAT WORKED!
Thank you @DonovanMcNeil!!!
And thank you to the whole team for your time and dedication with helping me:
@JenniferOlinger , @jacobfetzer

To recap, for anyone who may need this in the future:
I am a Den Leader and my name was showing instead of my daughter’s name as a scout in Scoutbook.
Solution: Click kid’s Edit Profile button, click on Youth Profile, click on Scout’s Info, change Preferred Name to the child’s name, Save, then remove it and hit Save.
Voilà!

Hi Mr McNeil,

I’ve tried to add in preferred name and then delete it. Saved. Logged out, logged back in and I get the same information. I’ve tried all things mentioned in this thread.
I am also a Den Leader and it is causing issues with me updating requirements for my dens. This started this past spring.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

@LisaLevchak I am not sure what you are trying to do with preferred name / nickname, but you do have 2 Scoutbook accounts. I have merged them.

Your primary BSA member number is 102581882. It is the one that has your current registration as a Lion Den Leader.

You also have 2 user names. You should be logging in with your my.scouting user name – not your e-mail address.

Thank you SO much!
I would like my username to be my email address. Is that something I could change myself under my profile?

@LisaLevchak the system really does not like email user names - they cause more issues
