@LucasSmith2 that is fixed
Sending this via email, donât know if it will work. I have two other scouts that will not synch. I am an admin for a Pack as well our Troop. I was able to transfer 2 of the scouts that just bridged with no issues. But the other two boys get the âcontact the scoutbook adminâ error. I tried following the instructions in https://help.scoutbook.scouting.org/knowledge-base/scout-not-matched-with-a-scout-on-the-official-roster-sb/#:~:text=This%20error%20actually%20means%20that,%3E%20Uncheck%20Position%20Approved%20%3E%20Update. but that did not work. They still show up with the yellow triangle. The first scout is: Scoutbook ID 9759708/BSA ID 136077226. The second scout is Scoutbook ID: 9738694/BSA ID:136041599.
@JamesTurner5 Have you tried this process?
MYST Transfer in tool Unit.pdf (94.8 KB)
Thanks,
I did that method and it states that it successfully did the transfer and that âan overnight process must be run to complete the transfer.â It still shows the yellow triangle. I am assuming that the yellow triangle is because the nightly run must still occur. If that is the case, you may want to amend the instructions to clarify what should be seen immediately after being transferred and to âcheck back the next day to confirm there are no issues.â
James
Did you do the transfer of these Scouts today? Both look to me as if they are waiting on the overnight transfer. The will remain until the overnight process completes.
Yes, I transferred them today, at about 9 AM pacific. That is why I suggested that the instructions be updated to let people know the will remain until the overnight process completes.
Hello there! I am receiving the âanother user is using the same e-mail addressâ in Scoutbook. Can someone please assist me in solving this problem? Thank you.
@AaronWest2 It looks like your e-mail address is also on your Scoutâs Scoutbook account.
Do you want me to just remove the e-mail address? Or sync his e-mail address onto it?
Hello, I am also having the âwarning, another user is using same email addressâŠâ issue. Here is the info Iâm seeing in my scoutbook account:
SB User ID:
13059893
BSA Member ID:
12769230
As far as I know that info is correct. Please help, thank you in advance.
Hi, we have an adult listed twice. Once as a leader because they are an ASM and once as a parent with no member ID number attached. As a result, their name shows up twice in all of the scoutbook calendar invites. MID is 14267524 there is no number associated with the parent name, so Iâm not sure how to merge them or if you can remove the other one altogether. Thanks so much.

I have a parent with 2 kids in the Pack. We just added the second but mom was not connected to the second scout. When I tried to add her connection I searched with her exact name, member #, city, and state and no user was found in the search which puzzled me. I manually added her and now she has 2 connections/member #'s with the same email address. first member# 140169431 the new member # 140376615. Can you combine them for me? And why did she not show up in the search?
The parent search has been broken for quite a while now. I keep holding out hope that development will get it resolved, but no luck so far.
So, the work-around (given that the search is currently broken) if the parent(s) already exit in the unit roster, is,
- Have a unit admin/Key 3/Key 3 delegate Go to the Connection Manager under Roster in Scoutbook.
- Select the intersection of the parent(s) and scout(s) names.
- Create a view only connection
- Go to each scoutâs Connections page, select the parentâs name, and set that connection as Parent/Guardian. This step is not reversible by unit-level personnel, and requires council intervention to fix, so be sure itâs the tight person.
The Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC) folks generally can.
@DavidGray4 What usually happens when you manually create an account for someone in Scoutbook is they get a new BSA member ID number but without a date of birth. As a best practice, I would recommend that you do not create Scoutbook accounts for people, because itâs usually better for them to create an account for themselves at my.scouting (please make sure that they use their full legal first name - not a nickname), and this will help reduce the odds of duplicate accounts.
There are 3 main ways to connect parents to their Scouts:
-
For parents that are already connected to another Scout in your unit, you can use the process that @CharleyHamilton described above.
-
Parents can connect themselves to their children in Scoutbook by going through:
My Account â My Connections
Click on the red text in the sentence: âIf you are a parent/guardian and do not see your Scout listed below Connect to your Scout as Parent/Guardian.â [indicated in bold here] -
Local council Registrars can use the Registrar Tools and go to the âRelationshipsâ section to add parent / child relationships. For these, you usually have to wait for an overnight process to run, but the parent should be connected to the Scout in Scoutbook the next day.
@DavidGray4 This parentâs Scoutbook accounts have been merged.
She should log in with her my.scouting username â not her e-mail address.
Parent has 2 accounts.
BSAID 110306196 (keep) registered with nickname
BSAID 135152156 registered with legal first name (IA says âPerson not found for given Person GUIDâ)
both linked as Parent to Scout, BSA 135152155
When the parent is logged in with 110306196, all his permissions are good, but he sees 3 instances of his scout.
@JillBarr both the parent and the scout are fixed
Thanks! You are the best!!
Hello! I have the duplicate account issue again with another parent turned leader.
Pending ID from when I tried to link you to the Scoutâs account last year: 14844974
Your Leader ID: 140377480
I assume we need to link everything- training and link to the Scout on the leader ID and remove (14844974). Can you please help?
Thank you,
Jessica
